1. Do you offer a 4-year MD program, for those who hold a Bachelor degree?  Do you offer MBBS degree?

No, we do not offer neither MBBS degree, neither a 4-year graduate program.
English Division offers only a 6-year Medical Doctor degree.

2. I hold a BSc or MSc diploma in Life Sciences. Can I accelerate the MD program, i.e., start from 2nd or latter year of studies?

No, it is not possible for BSc/MSc diploma holder. All new students are required to start on year 1 and pass all the required subjects.

Different rules apply to transfer students. Transfer will only be possible to the year 2nd and 3rd of studies. A student who wants to be transferred to MUW has to complete the academic year in the previous university, must obtain credits in all subjects, must pass all required exams, be enrolled in a 6-year medicine program in English and have an active student status at home institution.

3. Is it mandatory to learn Polish during studies? 

Yes, there are classes teaching basic and medical Polish language skills in the curriculum.

4. Do I have to do an internship (clerkship) during studies? 

Yes, it is part of the study program. During their studies, students have summer clerkships lasting four weeks. It is an integral part of the 6-Year MD Program and a pre-requisite to obtaining a MD diploma from the Medical University of Warsaw. You can have your internship done outside Poland, i.e., in your home country.

5. Do I have to do a postgraduate internship? 

The internship is not always required to be licensed to practice medicine in a particular country. There are countries where you can start working as a medical doctor after graduation. Check the internal regulations of the country concerned.

Graduates who studied medicine in the English language in Poland can apply for a place for the six-month internship (Polish: staż) organised by our University. Polish citizens completing English Division can also opt for a 12-month internship in Polish organised by Medical Chambers in Poland

6. Where can I find a curriculum of the study programme? 

Please check this page to find the full program of studies.

7. Is it possible to start my programme in the second semester (summer semester)? 

It is not possible. A student can only start studies from winter semester. The academic year starts on 1st October.

8. Is it possible to transfer into MUW? 

Yes, for details regarding transfer process please consult this page.

9. In what countries will my MD diploma from WUM be recognized? 

The diploma is recognized in the European Union, United Kingdom, United States, Canada and most other countries around the world.

10. Are there scholarships available? 

Scholarships are available only to our enrolled students.
A student of the Medical University of Warsaw may apply for scholarship benefits from the funds allocated for this purpose from the state budget in the form of:

1) a social scholarship;

2) a scholarship for people with disabilities;

3) the Rector’s scholarship;

4) allowances.

Another type of scholarship is an Own Fund Scholarship – offered to students who have completed at least one year of the medical program and their exam grade average is higher than 4.80. More details here.

11. When will the admission result be available? 

Admission results will be available at around 14 working days after writing the competency test. Please note that it might take longer if the Admission Board is busy.

SCHOLARSHIPS


Are there scholarships available? 

Information on tuition fees is published on the website and the amount is 15 100 EUR for first year and 14 900 EUR for each subsequent year.

The tuition fees are the same for all persons, regardless of nationality, i.e. also for Polish or EU citizens.

It is not possible to obtain a reduction in tuition fees.

The university does not offer any tuition waivers.

Scholarships are available only to our enrolled students.

A student of the Medical University of Warsaw may apply for scholarship benefits from the funds allocated for this purpose from the state budget in the form of:

1) a social scholarship:
–  with criteria as to the income per person in the family, i.e. this year the maximum income was set as maximum 290 EUR per person in the family (which has to be proved by the documents from tax office).
This scholarship approximately amounts to 180 EUR per month.

2) a scholarship for people with disabilities;

3) the Rector’s scholarship;

4) allowances.

Another type of scholarship is an Own Fund Scholarship – offered to students who have completed at least one year of the medical program and their exam grade average is higher than 4.80. More details here.

This scholarship approximately amounts to 90 EUR per month.

The amount of scholarship changes each year depending on different factors, meaning that next academic year it can be lower.
Please note that the amount of these scholarships could cover only a very small part of your living expenses in Warsaw. The costs of living in Warsaw can be checked on the website: Numbeo.


THE APPLICATION PROCESS

1. How can I apply?

The Online Recruitment System (ORS) is the only way to register and apply to the Medical University of Warsaw 6-year MD Program in English. We do not accept any other form of application.

You will need to fill in your ORS application with information and documents throughout the application process. So don’t miss a step and register before the deadline!
Note: The University is committed to personal data protection and will not disclose any information by phone or third parties. The University is not responsible for the incorrectly completed application.

2. Can I apply for more than one study program at the same time?

You can apply to only one English-taught study program. You can choose medicine, pharmacy or dentistry.
Polish citizens can independently apply to polish-taught study programs. Polish-taught programs applicants go through a different admission process, through a different application system.

3. I want to change a study program that I apply to. Is it possible?

It is possible only at the beginning of application process, BEFORE you go through next stages:

writing a competency test,
Or
obtaining a “Preliminary Qualification” status in the ORS.

4. Is it possible to apply before I have graduated from high-school?

Yes, if you are still studying at the time of your application, you are requested to upload the provisional transcripts (predicted grades) from your current school to your application.
You will need to have completed your current studies successfully by the time you enrol at our university.

5. I hold a BSc or MSc diploma in Life Sciences. Can accelerate the MD program, i.e. start from 2nd year of studies?
Can obtain credit at WUM for the courses that I passed during my degree?

No, it is not possible for BSc/MSc diploma holder. All new students are required to start on year 1st and pass all the required subjects. There is no possibility to bypass courses passed at another university as a new student of MUW.
Different rules apply to transfer students. Transfer will only be possible to the year 2nd and 3rd of studies. A student who wants to be transferred to MUW has to complete the academic year in the previous university, must obtain credits in all subjects, must pass all required exams and have an active student status at home institution.

6. What are the entry requirements for your program?

The entry requirements depend on the type of Candidate you are, please check the following pages for:
High-school graduates
High-school graduates of 2023
UCAT, BMAT, MCAT, GAMSAT holders
University degree holders

7. What can I do if I don’t have some mandatory subjects like biology, chemistry and physics?

You can take an extra exam in such a subject with the competency test or as a separate exam. We organise exams in biology, chemistry and physics.

8. I will pass my A-levels privately. Am I eligible to apply?

It depends on few factors, such as whether your country allows a home-schooling. We can verify your eligibility. Please send us an email to recruitment@wum.edu.pl, providing all of the following information:
– the country, where you are studying,
– the details of your examination center: number of examination center, its name, city and country.
Remember that you need 3 A-levels (biology, chemistry, maths/physics).

9. What is the application deadline?

The last day to register online is June 30, 2023

10. Do you accept O-levels and AS-levels?

A candidate needs to present A-levels in required subjects.

11. Is the competency test mandatory for candidates who have completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP)?

Yes. Competency test result is one of the two criteria, that are taken into account in the admission process.

The second criteria are your grades on high school diploma. You need to provide us grades from three subjects:
– Biology,
– Chemistry
– and one of those: Mathematics/Physics/Physics with Astronomy.

12. How can I prepare for competency test? Are there any study materials?

13. How can I be exempted from entrance exam (competency test)?

The competency test is not required only if:

– you can present UCAT, BMAT, MCAT, GAMSAT certificates which shall be accepted by the Admission Board
or
– If you hold a BSc or MSc degree in Life Sciences, obtained no earlier than in 2018 and have the relevant GPA. Not all subjects are taken into account to calculate GPA. The Admission Board will make the final decision.

Please send us your UCAT, BMAT, MCAT, GAMSAT certificate or BSc/MSc in Life Science degree BEFORE starting an application! We will tell you whether you are eligible for exemption from competency test and how you need to apply.

14. What are the recruitment criteria? How are the ranking points calculated?

Qualification score is based on the following two criteria:

Criterion 1. Your final grades in Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics on
your high school-leaving examination certificate (high school diploma)

Criterion 2. Your score from either of the following tests: Medical University of Warsaw English Division competency test, UCAT, BMAT, MCAT, GAMSAT.
If you hold a BSc or MSc degree, you will be assessed based on your university GPA (the competency test is not required).

Criterion 1 applies to all candidates. Ranking points are added for required final grades on your high school-leaving examination certificate:
A) Biology (Subject is mandatory) – a passing grade, level of subject must be equivalent to the extended level of the written baccalaureate examination.
B) Chemistry (Subject is mandatory) – a passing grade, level of subject must be equivalent to the extended level of the written baccalaureate examination.
C) Physics and astronomy OR Physics OR Mathematics – level of subject must be equivalent to the standard OR extended level of the written baccalaureate examination.
(Candidate chooses one subject mentioned in the point “C").

15. Is there any benchmark in competency test score, GPA or UCAT, BMAT, MCAT, GAMSAT score that guarantees a seat in the program?

The benchmark for admission changes each year depending on the cohort, therefore there is no specific benchmark set in advance. The Admission Board will offer places only to the top candidates from the ranking list.

16. How will I be informed about the various stages of the recruitment procedure?

The Online Recruitment System is the University’s means of communication with the Candidate. All the information that appears on the Candidate’s online account or in emails sent to the Candidate’s address shall be deemed given and binding. Therefore, the Candidate is responsible for checking their online application and emails. Admission results will appear on the Candidate’s online account only.

17. When do the interviews take place?

There are NO interviews during the MUW recruitment process.

18. I applied for the MUW last year. Can you please activate the same application?

It is not possible. Once recruitment is complete, the ORS system is reset, and all documents are deleted.

19. I have an unsatisfactory competency test result. Can I retake the test?

It is not possible. You are not allowed to retake the test. You can only once take part in recruitment for the upcoming academic year.

20. I took part in the current recruitment but was not accepted. Can I take part in a supplementary recruitment?

It is not possible. You can only once take part in recruitment for the upcoming academic year.

21. Are results of a Foundation Year applicable for admission?

No. The Foundation Year is not described in the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). It does not supplement education, for example, up to level 4, which is required before starting university.

22. What do I need to take the competency test? Are there technical requirements?

Please consult this website to read about the preparation before the test.

23. What are the predicted grades? Which document is necessary?
The predicted grades certificate is a document with the grades you will receive on your high-school leaving certificate/diploma or information on which subjects you will be taking examinations at the end of high school.
The school’s principal or another school representative must stamp and sign this document.

THE ONLINE RECRUITMENT SYSTEM (ORS)

1. What documents do I need to prepare before starting my application? 

Before you start your application, you should prepare a photo (not selfie). You should fill all the required information in your application.

After you create an application, an individual bank number will be created for you. You should pay the application fee by transfer to this individual bank account number.

2. How can I prepare a photo for my application? 

Photo requirements:
Passport Photo:
(a photo of you, not photocopy of picture from another document or photo of the document)

1. Face the camera directly with full face in view, looking straight ahead with open eyes not covered by hair.
2. Have a neutral facial expression and closed mouth.
3. Do not wear a hat or head covering that obscures the hair or hairline, unless worn daily for a religious purpose.
4. Dark glasses, headphones, wireless hands-free devices or similar items are not acceptable.
5. Use a plain white or off-white background
6. Have someone else take your photo. No selfies.

The size of the image in the electronic form should be at least 300 x 375 pixels, which allows you to print a 2 cm * 2.5 cm photo of adequate quality.
You may use only JPG format.
The maximum size of the photo file is 1 megabyte [MB].

3. How can I change the type of application, if I choose a wrong one? 

The candidate cannot independently change the type of application. In case of a wrong choice, contact the following address: support@wum.edu.pl or recruitment@wum.edu.pl, or use the tab “Report a problem" in the ORS system.

If you are a Candidate to a Dentistry program, you should report problems to the following email address: recruitment.dentistry@wum.edu.pl . The contact email for Candidates to a Pharmacy program is edpharm@wum.edu.pl .

4. Should I enter the required high school certificate grades in the application? 

Yes – in the ‘Grades and Results’ tab. Remember to select first the country where you obtained your certificate each time. It is necessary to do this to calculate your grades.
Please have your high school grades also entered if you are BSc or MSc holders.

If you have yet to graduate from high school and have predicted grades, do not complete this part of the application.

If grades have not been automatically recalculated into admission points, they will be reviewed by the Admission Board.

5. When should I upload the other required documents into my application? 

Some documents are required already at the beginning of application. If you do not upload the scans of required documents in the ‘Documents’ tab in ORS, we will not be able to review your application. It is advisable to upload documents as soon as possible. You can also attach a proof of application fee payment.

6. What documents should I upload in the ORS system? 

This depends on your application path.

Candidates who will take the competency test must attach:

7. What type of application in the ORS should I choose? 

Different application path for:

High-school graduates and High-school graduates of 2023, who want to write a competency test choose one of these application types:
IB Diploma (International Baccalaureate) or
EB Diploma (Issued in Brussels) or
New polish maturity certificate (since 2005) – PL only or
Secondary school-leaving certificate (High school diploma) – choose this application if your school-leaving certificate is other than listed above

BMAT/MCAT/UKCAT/GAMSAT Holders and University Degree Holders (Bachelor of Science/Master of Science) choose this type of application:
BMAT/MCAT/UKCAT/GAMSAT OR BSc/MSc Diploma
+ attach Secondary school-leaving certificate/IB/EB/Polish maturity certificate. This type of application applies to any type of secondary school certificate.*

Important: Please email your BMAT/MCAT/UKCAT/GAMSAT results to the English Division Admissions Office at recruitment@wum.edu.pl before you start your application.
Note, we do not conduct these tests. Please, check the BMAT, MCAT, UCAT or GAMSAT official websites for test details.

8. How can I ask a question or report a problem encountered during application to a study program through ORS?

If you are a Candidate to a Medicine program, you can ask questions and report problems to the following email address: support@wum.edu.pl lub recruitment@wum.edu.pl , or use the tab “Report a problem” in the ORS system.

If you are a Candidate to a Dentistry program, you can ask questions and report problems to the following email address: recruitment.dentistry@wum.edu.pl . The contact email for Candidates to a Pharmacy program is edpharm@wum.edu.pl .

9. What does the statuses in the ORS mean? 

Initially, each candidate has a “no decision" status.

Based on the competency test results OR the BMAT/UCAT/GAMSAT/MCAT score OR university GPA, the Admission Board will qualify each candidate. Status in ORS may change as follows:

• “Preliminary Qualification, Please pay the Confirmation Fee" – The Admission Board is waiting for you to confirm your place at the university and pay the confirmation fee. You have seven days to do this. You will receive instructions on how to confirm your place.

• “Qualified, Place is confirmed" – You have confirmed your place. You will be given templates of the documents to be completed and guidelines on preparing the admission file. The Admission Board will also give you a deadline by which you must submit your documents. Please note – each qualified candidate must send original documents to Warsaw by the deadline to keep the place.

• “Waiting list" – Candidates who earned more points than you were qualified. You may still be qualified if they choose not to enrol. You have to wait for further instructions.

• “Not accepted" – Your application was rejected. You can only apply again in the next academic year’s recruitment.

10. How will I be informed about the stages of recruitment process? 

Candidates receive messages to their recruitment accounts (“Mail from Admission Board" tab) and to the e-mail address provided during registration in ORS. Therefore, it is very important that you enter the correct address in the application and regularly review correspondence.

11. How will I be notified that I was qualified for admission? 

You will receive a message to your recruitment account (“Mail from Admission Board" tab) and to the e-mail address provided during registration in ORS. Your application status will be changed to “Preliminary Qualification”.

12. I have been assigned to a waiting list – what should I do in this case? 

You must regularly follow the correspondence and wait for messages from the Admission Board. At the beginning of recruitment (in March, April and May), messages will be sent once a month, and later more often, depending on the number of vacancies.

13. I selected an application for BMAT/UCAT/GAMSAT/MCAT holders and can not fill the dates of my certificate in the Education tab. What do I do?

The dates concern not your BMAT/UCAT/GAMSAT/MCAT certificate, but your high-school diploma only.

It needs to be filled the following way:

the date of issuing the document– refers to the date when your final high-school grades/results are issued

the date of leaving high school– refers to the date you have actually stopped attending school – usually right after last exams.

We know that you can not estimate the dates very precisely now, but you can insert the dates that in your opinion will be the closest to the actual date of graduation. After you write the exams and get your documents, you can correct the dates in the system.

14.What are the predicted grades? Which document is necessary?
The predicted grades certificate is a document with the grades you will receive on your high-school leaving certificate/diploma or information on which subjects you will be taking examinations at the end of high school.
The school’s principal or another school representative must stamp and sign this document.

15. Can I use a smartphone to set up an application in the ORS?
No. The system is not supported by smartphone browsers, therefore we strongly recommend you using a computer or a laptop.

1. What documents are required in the beginning of application process?

This depends on your application path.

Candidates who will take the competency test must attach:

– Scan of a passport.
Polish citizens attach a scan of a Polish ID card.
If you hold double citizenship, and one of them is Polish, according to polish law you must use your Polish citizenship and upload Polish passport or ID card (if you have).

Double-citizenship holders, who do not have Polish citizenship, can choose one of their citizenship and upload a passport of this country accordingly.
Please remember: the citizenship you select, will appear on your diploma upon graduation from MD program.

2. In what language should I prepare my documents?

If your documents are not in English, they must be sworn translated into English or Polish

AFTER PRELIMINARY QUALIFICATION (STATUS IN THE ORS "PRELIMINARY QUALIFICATION")

1. Which attachments should I upload after my status in the ORS changes into “Preliminary Qualification”?  

We will provide you with detailed information and a checklist with templates of documents after place confirmation.

Preparation of the school-leaving certificate (high-school diploma) depends on the country where you graduated or the education system.

We strongly request that each candidate upload scans of their documents into the ORS system before sending them by registered post or courier service to the Univeristy.

Let us know that you have prepared all the documents in ORS – send us an email (support@wum.edu.pl).

Documents that should be submitted after qualification:

Completed templates of the documents received from the University:
1. Personal questionnaire
2. Statement of Consent on Personal Data Processing
3. Statement on Civil rights
4. Statement of the date of obtaining the secondary school-leaving certificate. (Only candidates who have not yet received the original certificate from their school when mailing by post the documents to the University).

5. Secondary School-Leaving Certificate (High School Diploma)
Secondary School-Leaving Certificate (High School Diploma) that qualifies to undertake higher education studies in the country of issue (entitles its holder to be admitted to medical education programmes).
a. The certificate must be original or the copy certified by a Notary Public
b. The certificate must be certified with an affixed apostille or legalized
– Candidates holding IB/EB Diploma do not need to have an apostille on the official high school-leaving examination certificate.
6. Transcripts of all attended education programs with an affixed apostille or legalized (a transcript is only needed if the grades are not written on the certificate).
7. Certification of the candidate’s right to apply for admission to higher education (only selected candidates – we will provide you with detailed information)

8. Document confirming the fluency in English.

9. Health certificate form completed by a physician stating that the candidate can commence medical studies.
It requires several tests and preparation of information.

10. Vaccination Certificate (Immunisation proof)

11. One (1) recent passport photo (picture was taken with the photographer on photographic paper)

2. Which document confirming the fluency in English do you accept? 

One of the following documents can be presented:
– citizenship of a country in which English is the official language
– IB Diploma (International Baccalaureate issued in Geneva)
– EB Diploma (Issued in Brussels)
– completion of secondary or post-secondary education with English as language of instruction
– Polish baccalaureate examination (egzamin maturalny) with the result of the written examination in English (advanced level) of at least 83%

– Language certificates recognized by the Medical University of Warsaw (not older than 5 years):
IELTS Academic – Overall Band Score at least 6.5 points
TOEFL iBT – at least 87 points
TOEFL PBT – at least 547 points (at least 210 points in the computer system)
TOEIC – at least 700 points

– Candidates who completed their secondary education in Scandinavian countries:
Norway: grade in English in secondary school at least: 4
Sweden: grade in English in secondary school at least: VG or C
Denmark: grade in English in secondary school at least: 7

3. What happens if, after qualifying for studies, I do not submit the documents on time? 

Accepted candidates are required to complete their admission file and pay the tuition.

Failure to submit all required and correct documents in the form of the original or certified copies to the English Division 6-year Medical Program Admission Office by deadline specified on the acceptance letter (in English) could result in the cancellation of the candidate’s enrollment by the Admission Board.

If a candidate qualified for studies fails to submit a set of required documents by the deadline set, it means that he or she resigns from taking up studies, and thus is not admitted to studies.

4. What do I have to do after qualifying for admission? 

You need to complete your admission file. We will provide you with detailed information and a checklist with templates of documents after place confirmation.

5. Do I need to nostrify my high school diploma?   

Confirmation of education issued by the Masovian Education Superintendent in Poland is to be submitted by the end of the first year of studies – unless recognition is automatic, based on international agreements, please find your case and read details below.

Certificates and other documents confirming education obtained in foreign education systems may be recognized in Poland:

by operation of law, i.e. without the need for an opinion or certification by Polish institutions or offices

or

by the Education Superintendent as a result of administrative proceedings.

Recognition of certificates by law applies to:

have been issued by a school or educational institution recognized by the state in whose territory or in whose education system the school or educational institution operates, and at the same time entitle to apply for admission to higher education in the country in whose education system they were issued.

This applies to education documents issued in the education systems of the following countries:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Spain, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Canada, Korea, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, Germany, Norway, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey, USA, Hungary, UK, Italy.

In addition, the following are recognized by law:

IB (International Baccalaureate) diplomas, issued by the International Baccalaureate Organization in Geneva;

– EB (European Baccalaureate) diplomas issued by European Schools, in accordance with the Convention on the Statute of European Schools, drawn up in Luxembourg on June 21, 1994 (Journal of Laws of 2005, No. 3, item 10).

Recognition of certificates by Superintendent of Education as a result of administrative proceedings applies to certificates and documents that are not recognized by law.

1. What are the application and admission fees?

The application fee depends on the way you plan to complete the admission process:

23 EUR – if you want to write the Medical University of Warsaw (MUW) competency test.

20 EUR – if you want to submit your BMAT, MCAT, UKCAT or GAMSAT score. Please send your certificate to the English Division Admissions Office at recruitment@wum.edu.pl before applying online.

20 EUR – if you hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Master of Science (MSc) degree.  Upload a copy of your transcript in the Online Registration System (ORS). You will be assessed based on your GPA.

The application fee is non-refundable.

2. Until when should the application fee be paid? 

If the application is not paid, it will not be considered by the Admission Board.

Candidates scheduled to write a competency test must have their application fee credited to the ORS application seven days before the test date. No posted payment means that the application is closed and recruitment is finished.

3. When will the application fee be credited to my ORS application account? 

The recruitment system automatically books the payment. The colour of the ‘Payment’ tab then changes from red to green.
Please note that bank transfers take several days. Transfer duration depends on the banking systems. Therefore, please transfer your money earlier

4. What is the admission fee? 

The admission fee is 400 euros, paid only after the candidate’s status changes to ‘Preliminary qualification’. You have 7 days to make the deposit. You will also need to confirm that you wish to participate in the further stages of recruitment, i.e. complete an Admission File.
The fee is non-refundable. If you are enrolled as a student, the confirmation fee is accounted for as payment of the tuition fee.

5. How do I pay my application and admission fee? What is the bank account number? 

The application fee must be paid by bank transfer in EUR. Therefore, please ensure that the amount being transferred from a foreign currency will meet the required amount in EUR.
All and any handling charges related to the transfer, refunds, currency conversion fee are candidates’ responsibility.

The Online Recruitment System will generate an account number dedicated to your application. Please, use only the personal account number generated by the ORS when making your payment by bank transfer. Please be aware that it can take up to 5 days for the Online Registration System (ORS) to confirm receipt of your payment.

6. What is my tuition fee? 

The tuition fee for first year in AY 2024/25 is 16100 euro.

7. Can I pay tuition fee in instalments?

Yes. You can apply to pay in 2 or 4 instalments.

The application for payment in instalment is valid only for one academic year. You will have to apply again next year, if you still want to pay in instalments.

Additionally, if you apply to pay in instalments, you will not be able to change your payment schedule anymore this academic year.

2. What is the most convenient way of transportation in Warsaw? 

You can use the Warsaw Public Transport (Warszawski Transport Publiczny).
The most convenient is to buy a Warsaw City Card ticket, which is available for 30-days or 90-days.

As a student under the age of 26 years old, you can use the student discount on public transportation with your valid student electronic card (ELS).

4. What are the entry requirements for EU Citizens or EEA/EFTA Citizens?

Students who are citizens of the European Union (EU) or the EEA/EFTA do not need to apply for a visa.
However, they must register with the Voivodship (Provincial) Office within 90 days of arrival.

As a general rule, you would need a visa to enter Poland. All students who are Non-EU citizens may apply for D- type national visa.
