University Counselling Services

The University Counselling Services (UCS) by the MUW’s Department of Health Psychology were founded in January 2014. It is a free service available for all MUW students. The UCS team includes eight psychologists (five English speaking), including a sexologist.

The offered services provided by UCS to the ED students include:

Counselling (including Skype consults for MUW students currently studying abroad on the exchange programmes)

  • Coaching
  • Psychoeducation
  • Stress Management Training
  • Basic Biofeedback Training for Stress Control
  • Sexological Education

Appointments for counselling sessions can be made by contacting the UCS coordinator, Dr. Magdalena Łazarewicz, via email (magdalena.lazarewicz@wum.edu.pl). Meetings are scheduled according to the therapists’ and students’ availability. The University Counselling Services are on 14/16 Litewska Street.

For self help guides and information on how to arrange an appointment, check out their official website:

EDSG Facebook Groups

To make life easier for students, EDSG manages three groups on Facebook.

The USED Book Page is for the sale of textbooks and learning material, this page becomes particularly active at the beginning and end of the school year so keep an eye out and you can often get some good deals. It is NOT for selling household items.

The EDSG Marketplace Page is where students are allowed to sell any item they wish within the rules of the page (refrain from business posts, or anything that may be inappropriate).

The MUW Clubs and Events Page is for students to promote events hosted by clubs and student associations. Due to the large amount of clubs and events happening throughout the year, EDSG is unable to promote individual events on our EDSG MUW fanpage. Therefore, we encourage students to join and promote in the group.

After MUW/Post-Grad Options

As the majority of us are studying at MUW from foreign nations, we are going to be considered International Medical Graduates when applying to our home countries or countries we would like to work in. This comes with its own challenges and thus it is important to know what options are available. It is never too late to start thinking about your future!

See linked an EDSG guide written by older graduations on the various pathways available (Note: The guide is a few years old, so it must be taken only as a reference. If there are students who are willing to add more information or correct it please contact us).

You can also check out a Facebook page run by one of our ED students. They host seminars and post up-to-date information regarding post-grad options. Please note you will only be approved if you are a MUW student and answer the screening questions when joining.
