The Graduation Ceremony for the English Division Class of 2023 was held on June 19, 2023. For the first time in ED history, the ceremony was held at the beautiful Royal Castle in Warsaw. All graduates also received the very first ED yearbook.

In the presence of their family members and friends, 81 new doctors received their diplomas. The Golden STN Badge was awarded to Mikołaj Marszałek and Disha Keshwani for their outstanding scientific achievements. IFMSA-Poland Warsaw Branch awarded Huda Shah, Mithulya Amboo and Anya Wyporski for their contributions to the organization. The Faculty of Medicine awarded Carolyn Szwed and Huda Shah for their efforts as members of EDSG.

On behalf of the ED Class of 2023, we would like to sincerely thank Dr. Michał Macech, MD, PhD from the Department of General, Vascular, Endocrinological and Transplant Surgery for accepting the invitation to be a guest speaker at this year's ceremony.

Also, a special thank you to this year's Graduation Committee: Carolyn Szwed, Huda Shah and Disha Keshwani.

Students gathered for a henna workshop run by two experienced henna artists.

Students gathered for Bowling Night at TB Bowling Club Ochota (MUW Sports Center).

We would like to thank everyone who made the first Eid-al-Fitr Celebration at MUW a huge success! In particular, the volunteers, students and the people from Centrum Wielokulturowe for providing us with the space. 

We hope this event will be continued in the upcoming years!

In honor of Earth Day, a clean up event was organized to clean up the green areas by the Banacha campus. Students formed teams and competed to see which team would pick up the most trash. Exciting prizes awaited the winning team!

Final year ED and EDD students had professional graduation photos (wearing hats, gowns and stoles) taken. Group photos were also taken for ED. The photos were used for the very first edition of the ED yearbook.

For the 3rd year in a row, EDSG held our extremely popular chess competition, joined by participants of Polish and English Divisions, with attractive prizes to win. Thank you Samorząd Studentów WUM and WUM Shop for providing gifts for the winners! We hope to see you next year!

Students gathered at Bollywood Lounge to celebrate the Festival of Colors.

While Women's Day is celebrated internationally, in Poland it is tradition to give women flowers on that day 🙂

EDSG members walked around campus and handed flowers to women. Of course, we did not forget to pass by the Dean's Office to thank the women that work endlessly to support us.

Students gathered at Bollywood Lounge to celebrate the Festival of Lights.

EDSG sold used textbooks to students of all years.

The Club Night marks the end of Orientation Week. The theme this year was “Euphoria", voted by students. We thank ANSA for collaborating with us and for such a good turnout that filled the club!

Pub Crawl, part of Orientation Week, invites first year students to socialize in a more relaxed atmosphere outside of campus. It is also common for upper year students to join and meet new students. Students were split into small groups, led by an upper year student, and played games in each pub.

As every year, EDSG opened the academic year with Orientation Week, a 4 day event welcoming first year students to the MUW community. 

On the first day, students were given MUW gadgets, and a campus tour of the Banacha campus. After lunch, students had a choice of various activities hosted by our student clubs – suturing workshop, Kahoot activities, icebreakers, First Aid workshop, and introduction to anatomy were some of the choices student had.

On the second day, students arrived at Anatomicum – where classes for various subjects, most importantly histology and anatomy are conducted. They were greeted by lecturers of the Anatomy and Histology courses, arguably the most challenging for the first year. Dr. Skardowa and Dr. Niderla-Bielińska not only explained how the course worked, but also encouraged them and told them it is all possible. Following this, upper years joined in and led a Q&A session for any first year that had questions. EDSG held a used book sale from donations from previous years, where the money will be used in our future events.

On the third day, the morning started with the White Coat Ceremony, marking the start of their medical journey. Following, clubs and associations gave an introduction of all the extracurricular activities students can participate in. The book store also had a stand for students to purchase new books. At night, students were invited to Pub Crawl, a much awaited event for many students.

On the fourth day, we finished up with a Movie Night and themed Club Night (collaboration with ANSA). The party marked the end of Orientation Week 2022 and was a reminder to new students that classes will begin soon.

Of course, this event would not have been possible without the Dean's Office, various student communities and associations, as well as around 50 student volunteers who participated and helped in the event. We hope that first years had a good welcome to Warsaw and the MUW community, and that they will be student volunteers for our event next year.

90 graduates of the English Division of the Faculty of Medicine have officially completed their education at our University. Accompanied by the university authorities, lecturers, as well as family members and friends, on June 25th in the auditorium of the Didactic Center MUW, they received their diplomas and threw their graduation caps, thus symbolically bidding farewell to MUW. “I congratulate you, pay my sincere respects and wish you a successful, exciting and rewarding journey through the world of medicine," said to the heroes of the ceremony Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong, Rector of MUW.

In the 2021/2022 academic year, medical studies conducted in English were completed by graduates coming from such countries as: Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Norway, Germany or Finland. 

The graduation ceremony, organized specifically for graduates and their relatives, was led by Prof. Rafał Krenke, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. The Dean welcomed the heroes of the ceremony and all the guests, and then gave the floor to Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong, Rector of MUW.

On June 23rd, the graduating class of 2022 gathered for their last meal at Warszawa Wschodnia by Mateusz Gessler. We thank the Graduation Committee for their initiative and making it all possible. On behalf of EDSG, we wish you the best of luck on your future journey as a doctor.

Lifestyle Medicine Scientific Club X EDSG dance event alert! 

Although it’s snowing today, spring is knocking on our door, waiting to come in. 

It’s time to flex our bodies and wake our bodies up from winter sleep! 

So together with Lifestyle Medicine Scientific Club, we have prepared a hip-hop dance class, which will be conducted by Natalia Kostecka. She is a student at the Medical University of Warsaw and she has completed a sports instructor course with a specialization in dance. She will be our trainer for the day. 

We welcome you to train together, have fun, make new friends and recharge with us.

The onset of war in Ukraine under Russian aggression left students asking how they can help, therefore EDSG created a donation drive to help the people of Ukraine.

On Sunday (February 28th, 2022) evening, donation items collected in the boxes were sent to the collection point at Bokserska 64 in Warsaw, which is in partnership with the City Hall of Łódź.

We also sent other extra items to other donation points in Warsaw.

EDSG also collaborated with a student government from a medical school in Ukraine and helped with arranging short-term housing for students fleeing the country and taking a flight at Warsaw Chopin Airport.

We thank all students for their help. The donation point was filled to the brim over the weekend.

We will support the SOS Foodbank in Warsaw.

Boxes will be available on the ground floor of the Didactic Center starting on Monday for collection.

We are co-organizing with the Polish Division the “Święty Mikołaj dla Seniora”, the annual Christmas charity for the ones in need!🥳

We have picked a man who is lonely and ill and needs our help.

This year we are preparing a Christmas gift for Krzysztof and his faithful companion Kacper (his dog). 

Krzysztof is 85 years old and staying in a nursing home. 

Krzysztof's wife, who was his only family apart from Kacper, passed away a few years ago, leaving him by himself. 

Krzysztof, despite his old age and his many diseases, is a very cheerful person, who smiles all the time and tries to help everyone. 

Due to his very low retirement pension, he can’t afford to buy not only warm clothes but also everyday essential products and his medication. 

The coming winter terrifies him a lot because without the donations, he won’t be able to use heating for his house and he is afraid that he will be very cold for several months again. Therefore he asks Santa for two tons of coal (which costs around 2000zł), warm clothes, shoes and everyday products like soap and washing powder. 

Krzysztof also didn’t forget to ask for dog food and a toy for his best friend – Kacper.

We will collect your donations until 20/11, after that we will post how much we collected and photos of our gifts ☺️
