Dean’s Krenke Letter
Dean’s Krenke Letter
Dear Students,
In accordance with the Rector’s Order No. 258/2020 published on November 13, and meeting the expectations expressed by the Representatives of the Student Government, we are starting a gradual restoration of practical contact classes at the Faculty of Medicine. I would like to point out that in the coming time practical classes (exercises) can to be conducted both in the contact and remote form. The choice of proportions between these forms of education depends on the capabilities of individual departments and the epidemiological situation. Variants of the implementation of clinical classes were discussed in detail and approved by the Representatives of the departments and Students of the Faculty of medicine during the meetings of the Program Councils for clinical subjects, which took place on November 2-5, 2020. Pursuant to Article 1 section 3, when planning contact clinical exercises, priority will be given to classes for 6th year students.
I am aware that the changes introduced by some departments of the Faculty of Medicine in the organization of classes as a reaction to the Rector’s Order may have come as a surprise to you and that immediate adaptation to these changes may encounter objective difficulties. Therefore, in a separate letter, I asked the Heads of the Departments to be understanding towards those students who, for various, justified reasons, will not be able to register for practical contact classes in the coming weeks.
Unfortunately, the epidemic situation does not allow for an unequivocal determination of the date when it will be possible to return to contact classes in individual departments. I will try to keep you informed about the planned changes in the forms of teaching.
Stay safe and healthy!
Rafał Krenke
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine
