6-Year MD Program
The 6-Year MD Program (Medicine) is for high school graduates and for college/university graduates. At the end of the program, the graduates are awarded the MD degree and receive a medical diploma (dyplom lekarski) recognized in Poland, the European Union, USA, Canada and most other countries around the world.
– The program includes 3 pre-clinical years (lectures, seminars and classes) and 3 clinical years (clinical classes in hospitals with patients, Medical Simulation Centre) and summer clerkships
– Student clinical training at 6 University clinical hospitals and affiliated ones across Warsaw
– Over 1000 graduates since 1993
– Teaching that goes beyond standard requirements
(more than 5700 hours and 36 ECTS per year)
– Students complete a Register of Student Skills essential for medical practice
Basic science and pre-medical training of the English Division students are provided in the form of lectures, seminars, and practical classes by more than 70 departments and clinics of the Medical University of Warsaw.
Clinical training takes place at the 6 University hospitals, the University’s Medical Simulation Center and at affiliated hospitals.
Throughout the 6-Year MD Program, students are assessed on their knowledge and skills. The learning process of the students is supervised by the teaching staff during their entire education and training at the Medical University of Warsaw. Medical students’ theoretical knowledge is checked in the form of tests, and a written and oral exam at the end of the course. Practical clinical skills are regularly evaluated in order to ensure effective high quality training. Students graduate with a completed Register of Student Skills essential for medical practice.
All the teaching staff of the English Division are employed either on a full-time basis or on a part-time basis. They also work as researches or medical practitioners at the Medical University of Warsaw’s basic science, pre-clinical and clinical departments.
Students interested in writing the USMLE (the United States Medical Licensing Examination) Step I are eligible once they have completed the 3-year pre-clinical curriculum. Upon completion of the 3-year clinical training, students can sit the USMLE Step II.
Tuition payment
The tuition fee can be paid in full or, with the Dean's approval, in 2 or 4 installments.
Please remember:
If you want to pay in installments, you need to apply for payment in installments until 9th of October of the academic year in which you want to pay your tuition fee in installments.The application has to be submitted separately for each academic year. If you pay in installments, your overall tuition fee will be higher than if you pay the full tuition at once. An interest is charged for late payments.
